## What 1.29.6.6 delivers

A reliability release for JSON-lines data, with full compatibility for archives
written by earlier versions. Every other archive is byte-identical to 1.29.6.5.
On the qualification host, creation and verification times are unchanged and
peak memory is within one percent, except ultrafast extraction of JSON-lines
files, which peaks about 0.3 MB higher. The package passed install, create, test, and restore checks
in clean Ubuntu 24.04 and Arch userspaces.

## The 1.29 line since 1.29.0

All figures come from one laboratory host (AMD Ryzen 3 7330U, 4 cores /
8 threads, Linux). A ratio is the earlier version's time over the later
version's, so a value above one is faster.

- **1.29.5 GRIDMIND (2026-09-24).** An adaptive resource planner sizes each
archive job to the machine it runs on: 1.36x faster verified creation and
1.24x less CPU than 1.29.0 overall across 48 measured cells, with archive bytes
  unchanged.
- **1.29.6 IRONFLOOR (2026-10-06).** Faster than 1.29.0 in every measured cell:
1.74x faster verified creation overall (1.20x in the slowest of 48 cells),
1.50x less CPU, and 3.27x lower peak memory, with byte-identical archives and
passing sealed and fresh holdout tiers.
- **1.29.6.5 SIGHTLINE (2026-10-08).** The fast objective recognises
already-compressed media and spends less work on it: 1.14x to 12.80x faster
verified creation on such inputs against 1.29.6, within one percent of its
archive size. Every other archive is byte-identical to 1.29.6.
- **1.29.6.6 (2026-10-12).** Reliability for JSON-lines data, as above.

## Public claim boundary

These are single-host results for the configurations named above. No
cross-host, energy, or leadership claim is made. The Chronicle of the line is
